The value of construction works carried out by companies with 20 and more employees with their own employees in Croatia increased 3.0 percent in the second quarter compared to the same period last year, while the value of new orders jumped by 12.2 percent, according to data from the State Statistical Office.
Construction works in the second quarter totaled HRK 5.22 billion, of which 3.79 billion relates to works carried out with their own workers, and 1.43 billion for works done with subcontractors.
Looking at only works done with their own workers, 56.5 percent was made in newbuildings, and 43.5 percent were the other works. At the same time, 45.6 percent of works were done on buildings and 54.4 percent on other buildings.
The value of new orders in the second quarter was 4.43 billion kunas, of which 2.46 billion relates to buildings and 1.97 billion kuna to other buildings.
Looking at the level of the first six months of this year, the value of completed works is 4.2 percent higher than the first six months of last year, while the value of new orders grew 17.4 percent.
