In the premises of RIT Croatia, the awarding certificate ceremony to the third generation of participants of Youth Business Camp Adria Zagreb was held for the third time. This camp is intended for participants between the ages of 15 and 19, which was attended by 15 teenagers this year, including 6 teenagers from Ukraine who live in Croatia.
Through 65 hours of lectures, a full-day field trip, and a mentoring program, participants could hear 26 different business topics that gave them direction for the possibility of opening their own business or choosing a study program. In addition to participants from Ukraine, this year’s participants were teenagers from the American Academy from Zagreb, Hotel and Tourism School, 2nd School of Economics, V. Gymnasium, etc. As in previous years, this year as well, the lecturers are renowned practitioners, individuals who come from various sectors and companies such as the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Ernst and Young, Jamnica plus, L’oreal Adria, Media Servis, Hrvatski Telekom, Privredna Banka Zagreb, Croatian Post, Hyatt Regency, Polyclinic Terme- Selce, but also Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, the office of the European Parliament in Croatia, and law firms: Korper and partners, and Mamić Perić Reberski Rimac. The participants applied the acquired knowledge to the development of their own project plan, which they presented on the last day of the camp. As a confirmation of participation, and as part of the Share the Knowledge Share the Experience program, participants were awarded with a certificate from the World Innovation and Change Management Institut.
Danijel Koletić, founder and director of the franchise World Entrepreneurship program on the occasion of the certificate ceremony to the third generation, pointed out: “We are grateful that thanks to sponsors, we managed to fully or partially provide some participants with a scholarship. I am proud that we managed to pass on knowledge to young people this year that will follow them along their path. Unfortunately, the national curriculum does not sufficiently follow changes and is not inclined to provide general knowledge that motivates young people to start their own businesses. We will continue next year with the program in order to inspire entrepreneurship.” Technical and program support for this camp is provided by RIT Croatia, and lecturers from Edward Bernays University of Applied Sciences, Algebra University, and Vern University. Youth Business Camp Adria Zagreb next year will be held from July 1-12., 2024.
