In her speech, she emphasized that Europe is much more than a geographical concept. “It is a community of values based on shared cultures and experiences that have united us and that allow us to be strong and united in facing challenges.” The President also referred to Croatia’s membership in the EU. Despite the fact that Croatia is the youngest member, its initiatives and incentives are at the very center of the European Union’s activities, she asserted.

“In a world where disinformation and uncertainty are increasingly widespread, it is important to show what Europe does for Croatia and its citizens. The more informed we are, the stronger we are. Both as individuals and as a society. That is what we want to achieve here: to bring decision-making closer to citizens,” said Metsola. She especially addressed the young people – who also participated in the inauguration ceremony – telling them that the Experience Europe center is their space, a place for meetings, exchange of ideas, discussions, among other things, about the future of Europe.

The center is located in the very center of Zagreb, at Bakačeva 3, and is open seven days a week. Admission is free, and on two floors, citizens can use the exhibition space with visually attractive specialized content about the European Union and an educational role-playing game. It is a simulation of the work of members of the European Parliament for organized groups of visitors who can thus better familiarize themselves with the process of adopting European laws.
