On the occasion of marking the 70th anniversary of Republic of India, the Embassy of India in Zagreb held a reception at the Sheraton Hotel.
New ambassador of India to Croatia H.E. Arindam Bagchi addressed to guests and reminded of the friendship of the two countries and the good relations of the two peoples.
This year marks the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the global symbol of non-violence. As part of these celebrations, the Government of India invited artists from around the world to sing Gandhi’s favorite devotional song Vaishnava Jana To. This song in Gujarati, from the western Indian state of Gujarat, was composed in the 15th century and talks about the qualities of a good human being.
The reception was attended by a large number of officials, representatives of the diplomatic corps, personalities from Croatia’s cultural and public life.
