On Tuesday, 5 February 2019, the Sheraton Hotel in Zagreb hosted members and friends of SLO CRO Business Club at a business breakfast . The host was the president of the SLO CRO Business Club Saša Muminović and the honorary guest was Minister of Construction and Spatial Planning of the Republic of Croatia, Predrag Štromar.
Guest lecturer was Marjan Pipenbaher, a graduate engineer specialized in structural and earthquake engineering- co-author and chief designer of the Pelješac bridge. Pipenbaher has been building bridges for 35 years.
Thirty years ago, he was the co-founder of Ponting Consulting Engineers, and fifteen years ago he founded Pipenbaher Consulting Engineers. In both works, with 20 engineering engineers dealing primarily with demanding constructions, in most cases designing bridges. The bridge to Pelješac began to build in July last year. The debt will be 2404 meters. Under him, a 55 meter high ship will be able to drive, as the central range will be so high.
“The beauty of this bridge is that it’s so big, but it’s gentle and has a filigree structure,” says Pipenbacher.
