Rising costs of energy and raw materials, as well as an increasing focus on environmental protection and sustainable business, have led to the orientation of many companies towards resource and energy efficiency. Accordingly, the German-Croatian Chamber of Industry and Commerce has launched a project called Young Energy Europe, which helps young professionals from different industries to identify and exploit the potential for energy savings and reduction of CO2 emissions.
The goal of the project is to educate employees, strengthen environmental awareness and contribute to climate protection within the business. The project was launched by the European Climate Initiative (EUKI), which is a funding instrument of the Federal Ministry of the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety of the Federal Republic of Germany (BMU).
The German-Croatian Chamber of Industry and Commerce, as the largest bilateral economic organization in Croatia, recognized this project and its benefits for young professionals and companies. “I recommend participating in the project to all young employees who want to learn how to save energy and resources. With your contribution to environmental protection, you can help your company, making you more competitive in the market, and you can redirect the savings you have saved to long-awaited investments, “said Young Energy Europe project manager Daniela Buntak.
Free education with provided materials and a certificate with which you gain the title of “Energy Scout” are additional benefits of the project. The training is held from 18 to 21 October and provides basic knowledge in the field of energy efficiency, renewable energy sources, water and waste management, etc. This is followed by a period of several weeks in which participants conceptualize and implement their own energy efficiency project.
The good practice of implementing the project is also confirmed by countries such as the Czech Republic, Hungary, Greece and Bulgaria, where more than 300 energy scouts from 135 companies completed the training and 143 projects were realized, and 26,600 tons of CO2 were saved.
The next cycle of lectures will be held in April 2022, and you can apply now.
