More than 532,000 tourists have visited Croatia since early June and they have generated more than 2.6 million overnight stays, the Croatian Tourism Association (HUT) said on Wednesday, noting that currently 600 hotels and 325 camping sites were open.
“Owing to a favourable epidemiological situation Croatia is still perceived as the safest Mediterranean summer destination. The number of foreign guests rises by the week and Croatia has affirmed its status as one of the most desirable tourist destinations this summer, with more than 532,000 tourists having visited the country, making more than 2.6 million overnight stays. The most numerous guests were those from Germany (23.5%), Slovenia (19.5%), Austria (8.8%), and the Czech Republic (5.8%),” HUT says.
Currently, 600 hotels and 325 camping sites are open and more hotels, camping sites, resorts, night clubs, amusement parks, and other tourist facilities are being opened every day.
Croatia’s favourable epidemiological situation is evidenced by the fact that currently, only 18 COVID-19 patients are receiving hospital treatment and that there are 136 active cases, HUT says.
